MISSION:  The mission of the YES Center is to facilitate the development of the collaborative, locally based initiatives which serve to improve the safety, health and quality of life for all Grand Ledge area youth.

  • Organized in 2001 and is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

  • Funded by grants, fund-raising initiatives and donations

  • The YES Center was acquired to provide a home for a collaborative community effort in bringing opportunities to our children to encourage growth as caring and responsible people.  We base our center practices on four basic principles:

    • belonging

    • being heard

    • usefulness

    • competence.

YES Programs

  • HOMEWORK HELP - The YES Center is offering FREE homework help for middle school students during after-school hours.   High school honors students and adult volunteers are ready with plenty of enthusiasm to ensure that participants have a great learning experience.  Call Holly at 517-242-2177 to register for 1-4days per week (Mon-Thur).

  • AFTER-SCHOOL DROP-IN - Students aged 13-18 years old are welcome to drop in after school at the YES Center Monday - Thursday from 3-5pm.  Join your friends and play pool, do your homework, play foosball, watch a movie, play a board game and have fun!

  • POOL TOURNAMENTS - Every three months youth aged 13-18 years old are invited to participate in an organized pool tournament with Vikci Paksi, a recent inductee to the Woman's Professional Billiard Association's (WPBA) Hall of Fame.  The winner takes home a trophy!  Tournament dates and times are announced during school and on the YES Center website.
